Adding a New Interior Door (ADU) in Huntington Beach

Sometimes the layout of your home just doesn’t work for your current lifestyle. In this recent Huntington Beach home renovation, I transformed a solid wall into a functional entryway. This wasn't just a simple door hang; it was a full structural and cosmetic integration.

The Professional Process:

1.Opening & Framing: After verifying there were no electrical or plumbing lines in the way, I opened the wall and installed a new structural header. Proper framing is the "skeleton" that ensures the door stays plumb and the wall remains strong.

2.Hanging the door I installed a modern 6-panel door, ensuring the "reveal" (the gap between the door and frame) was perfectly uniform.

3.The "Invisible" Patch & Texture: This is where the pros stand out. I patched the drywall and applied a matching texture so you can't tell where the old wall ended and the new opening began.

4.Finish Carpentry & Paint: I installed matching casing (molding) to stay consistent with the rest of the home’s architecture. We finished the job with professional-grade priming and painting for a seamless look.

Why Hire a Pro for a Wall Opening?

Opening a wall is permanent. If the framing isn't square, the door will never close right. If the drywall texture doesn't match, it will be an eyesore every time you walk by.

I bring 20+ years of experience to ensure the new door looks like it was part of the original floor plan.
