Expert Murphy Door Installation & Finish Carpentry in Huntington Beach

While the opening was already present, the challenge was in the execution and the "invisible" finish work that makes a hidden door truly successful.

My Process for this Project:

  • Custom Framing: I began by framing out the space between the existing walls. Precision is non-negotiable here; if the frame is even slightly out of square, a Murphy door will bind or show uneven gaps. I ensured the structural foundation was perfect before moving forward.

  • Drywall & Texture Matching: Once the framing was set, I handled the drywall installation. My goal is always a seamless transition, I applied professional-grade texture to match the existing walls exactly, so the new work becomes part of the original home.

  • The Murphy Door Install: I installed the customer’s Murphy door unit, focusing on the specialized hardware and clearance required for a smooth, hidden pivot.

  • Finish Carpentry & Painting: To wrap up the job, I installed the molding and trim for a clean, built-in look. I finished everything with a professional prime and paint, ensuring the new entryway was move-in ready and aesthetically flawless.
